Why Join YTB?
Wondering whether to join YTB? Here are some of the reasons I joined, and some of the benefits I've enjoyed since becoming a Referring Travel Agent (RTA).
No Inventory.
I have been involved in companies before, where I might have loved the product, but I hated having to order products to have drop-shipped to my home that I would later have to lug around in my car to load off on somebody else. With YTB, I love the product (travel!) but I don't have to worry about having any lotions, potions or pills to take up space in my home or my car because all my inventory is on my website!
No Time Limits, No Quotas, No Demotions, No Pressure.
With YTB, there is absolutely no pressure. Whether you decide to build a team or you choose to exclusively work your travel business is 100% up to you. And if you decide that it is in yours and your family’s best interest to build your organization, you can do so at your own pace. And the good news is that once you've completed your First Team (6 Travel Store Sales and 3 Reps) and promoted to your Power Team, you can't go back and you won’t be demoted, nor will you get charge backs for people who may have dropped out underneath you. Instead, your hard work is rewarded well with a copyrighted compensation system that is second to none.
Competitive Pricing.
If you have ever bought make-up from Macy’s or Dillards, you know how expensive it is. And if you’re like me, you’ll especially feel the pain of it when you realize that you could have gotten the same quality of eyeliner or mascara from Walgreens for a fraction of the cost! Or, maybe you’ve been one of those expensive vitamin distributors, selling products that people could pick up from their local Walmart store for less than half the price of yours. That’s one major difference with YTB because our products (cruises, vacations, car rentals, airfare, etc.) are comparably priced with other vendors. So when my family, friends, co-workers and other clients go on my site to book their travels, they can compare my prices to Expedia, Hotwire, Orbitz, etc. and see that my prices are virtually the same or even lower than my competitors. In fact, many have saved money by using my website, including the last flight I booked for myself on my website. I was going from Memphis to Montego Bay, Jamaica, and I saved more than $100 by booking it on my site… plus I earned a commission!
Easy Learning Curve.
I have tried selling juices, vitamins, lotions and other potions in the past. Learning all of the scientific jargon, talking about the studies and giving the product testimonials was a labor intensive process at best. Just pronouncing some of the “tropical ingredient” words for some products was enough, let alone trying to quote statistics. With YTB this isn’t the case. Booking travel online is what 85% of the world is already doing, so pointing people to your website or even learning to do it yourself on your own website is a cakewalk.
Real Travel Perks and Discounts.
Recently I booked a Sandals vacation for 5 days/4 nights for one of my clients for her honeymoon. We got a fairly good deal, but the cost of their vacation still topped $2000. A few weeks ago, travel agents were offered a FAM (Familiarization) trip to different Sandals resorts. That was when I realized just how incredible being an RTA really is. My 5 day/4 night Sandals vacation including airfare, transfers, meals, drinks, gratuities and water sports cost me a total of $394. In addition, being a travel professional affords me the opportunity to request from hotel, car rental and other vendors “travel agent” rates. These rates can be discounted up to 80% off retail.
Easy to Talk About/Easy to Promote.
One of the first things that you learn when you own your own business is that you will have to promote it. No one is going to look at you the day after you become a business owner and think to themselves, “she looks like she just got into the travel business!” No, you will have to market, promote and/or advertise. But when your business is travel, it’s so easy to do. Why? Because virtually everybody, loves to take vacations! If you ask 100 people, what they would do more of if time or money was not an issue, and I guarantee you that 100 times out of 100, the answer would be “travel”. So talking about my YTB business, even with perfect strangers is as simple as discovering that they like to take vacations! But what if you don’t like approaching people, that’s OK too, because I also build my YTB business online. If you want, even without going to hotel meetings or cold call prospects, you can build a viable YTB business. I have certainly had people who have joined my business that I have not even had the first conversation with! This is called “magnetic” or attraction” marketing, and I teach these methods to my YTB TEAM members as well, so they can use the marketing systems that work best for them.
Great Tax Deductions.
Because of the kind of business, YTB is, so many things that you would not normally think of as a tax deduction, can become one when you’re in this business. For example, the last vacation I took, because I am in this business, I can completely write off. But not only that, because I use my computer to market my business on the Internet, when I bought my new computer it was also a tax deduction. You'll need to consult with your tax advisor for the deducibility of expenses based on your particular circumstances, but if your situation is anything like mine, you may be able to save thousands in tax deductions.
All these reasons are above and beyond the fact that you can make a lot of money and have a lot of fun in YTB.
